Hanging Collage

Collages are a great way to display various types of information or content.

Materials

  • Light colored sheet of construction paper
  • Xerox paper
  • Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
  • Glue
  • Hole punch
  • Twine/Yarn/Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Ruler

Time

1 - 2 hours

Procedure

Instruct students to:

  1. Fold sheet of construction paper in half to form a 12" by 4 ½ " rectangle.
  2. Cut into 2 sections and share with a classmate.
  3. Make four fold lines:
    • 1 - ¾” wide to serve as a glue tab
    • 3 - 3 ¾” wide to serve as information sections.
  4. Write name in one section.
  5. Write information on Xerox paper about self and paste in 1 section.
  6. Draw a picture/scene on Xerox paper about self and glue to 3rd section.
  7. Attach together with glue.
  8. Make a hole in the center top of each section
  9. Tie a 12" length through the holes.
  10. Knot 3 ends together and hang.
