Procedure
Instruct students to:
-
Fold a piece of green construction paper in half to form 2 6' by 9' sections.

Then fold in half again to form a 3' by 9' rectangle.

Draw half an evergreen tree along the double fold. Drawing a trunk is optional.

Cut along the line and you should get two identical trees.

Decorate with pinecones, birds, nest, garlands, ornaments, etc.

Cut a slit along the bottom half of one tree to the center.

Cut a slit along the top half of the other tree to the center.
-
Slip the two trees together along the slits.

Attach the bottoms and tops together with 4 small pieces of tape.
- Place joined trees flat on desk.
- Place small piece of tape across the top and bottom slit.
- Turn over and repeat on the backside.

Fold along taped lines to separate tree sides.

Attach length and hang.

Decorate. (Optional)
Variation
Trees made in this manner out of smaller/larger pieces of construction paper can be used as diorama items.
