Faces

This is a great fun and easy project for open house. Parents will enjoy trying to guess which child is theirs.

Materials

• Construction paper
• Construction paper scraps
• Xerox paper
• Circle templates (8”, nickel, dime)
• Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
• Yarn
• Scissors
• Glue

Time

Approximately 1 hour

Procedure

Instruct students to:

1. Draw 8” diameter circle on a sheet of construction paper for a face.
2. Cut into 2 sections and share with a classmate.
3. Cut nickel size pink/red circles for cheeks.
4. Cut nickel size white circles for the eyes.
5. Cut smaller black circles for the pupils.
6. Cut small pink circle for the nose.
7. Cut a curved or heart shape for the mouth.
8. Glue facial features in the appropriate places.
9. Add eyelashes and eyebrows with colors.
10. Cut varying lengths of yarn for the hair.
11. Attach to head.
12. Write name on the back.

Variation

• Students can use various size rectangles to form body parts.
• Attach together to form a garland.
