Headbands

• Construction paper
• Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
• Scissors

Under 1 hour

Procedure

Instruct students to:

1. Fold 1 sheet of construction paper in half lengthwise to form a 4 ½ “ by 12” strip.
2. Cut along fold line and share with another student.
3. Have students fold the 4 ½” strip in half-length wise again to form a 1 ¾ by 12” strip.
4. Cut along the fold line to form 2 - 1 3/4 inch strips.
5. Glue the ends together to form a 24 inch strip.
6. Place band around head to determine length needed to form headband.
7. Add 1” to measurement and cut.
8. Create shapes and objects in varying colors.
9. Attach to strip.
10. Add details with colors.
11. Glue ends together.

    Variations

    Instruct students to cut out animal ears, antennae, horns, etc.
