Measuring Tree

Materials

• 6 sheets of construction paper
• Ruler
• Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
• Tape

Time

1-2 hours

Procedure

Instruct students to:

1. Tape construction paper together to make one long piece about 6’ long.
2. Turn over and draw a tree from the bottom to the top of the construction paper.
3. Make the trunk long.
4. Place ruler along 1 side and mark the tree in inches and feet.
5. Write name on the top of the tree.
6. Punch a hole from the top center.
7. Put a length through hole and tie.
8. Hang.
9. Have someone put a mark on the tree where the top of student's head touches.
10. Put the date, age, and weight next to the mark on the tree.
