Measuring Tree
Materials
- 6 sheets of construction paper
- Ruler
- Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
- Tape
Time
1-2 hours
Procedure
Instruct students to:
- Tape construction paper together to make one long piece about 6’ long.
- Turn over and draw a tree from the bottom to the top of the construction paper.
- Make the trunk long.
- Place ruler along 1 side and mark the tree in inches and feet.
- Write name on the top of the tree.
- Punch a hole from the top center.
- Put a length through hole and tie.
- Hang.
- Have someone put a mark on the tree where the top of student's head touches.
- Put the date, age, and weight next to the mark on the tree.
