Mother's Day Crafts

Mini-Posters

• Sheet of light colored construction paper
• Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
• Scissors
• Glue
• Loose-leaf

Time

Less than 1 hour

Procedure

Instruct students to:

1. Fold construction paper in half to form a 6” by 9” rectangle.
2. Cut into 2 rectangles and exchange with a classmate for a contrasting color.
3. On loose-leaf, have students plan what they want to put on their mini posters.
   • First think of and carry out a design including flowers, leaves, birds, etc.
   • Then think of and write out statements about his/her mom in paragraph form or poetry.
     • She gives me hugs and kisses.
     • She cooks my favorite foods.
     • She helps me with my homework.
4. Transfer to mini poster.

Tip

Repeat for a bouquet.
