Mobile (Snowflake)

Substitute any flat or dimensional item in place of the snowflake.

Materials

• Construction paper
• 2 sheets of Xerox paper per student
• Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
• Scissors
• Hole Punch
• Twine/Yarn/Ribbon

Time

1 hour

Procedure

Instruct students to:

1. Fold and cut Xerox paper in half to form 4-4 ¼” by 11’ stripes.
2. Fold each piece into ½” accordion pleats.
3. Cut a notch on each long side at the center.
4. Tie securely with a length.
5. Make a variety of cuts on both sides of the folder paper.
6. Run a line of glue along outside pleats.
7. Glue outside pleats together.
8. Attach a string to top of snowflake.
9. Cut a 1” by 12” strip of construction paper.
10. Glue ends together to form a circle.
11. Punch 4 equally spaced hole in the circle.
12. Attach snowflakes with 4 different lengths of string.
13. Knot 4 ends together.
14. Hang from a line strung across the room.
