Personality Strip

Materials
  • Light colored sheet of construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
  • Glue
  • Hole Punch
  • Twine/Yarn/Ribbon

Time

Under 1 hour

Procedure

Instruct students to:

  1. Fold a 9” by 12” sheet of construction paper in half lengthwise.
  2. Cut on the fold and glue the ends together to make one long strip.
  3. Lightly draw a design that runs the length of the strip.
  4. Write your name somewhere within the design.
  5. Write words that describe your personality.
  6. Decorate
  7. Make cuts every ¼” on both of the long edges of the strip, stopping when you reach the design’s lines.
  8. Fold the cut strips to the front and back, alternating as you work.
  9. Punch a hole in the top of your strip and add a length of colorful length.
  10. Hang.
