Snowman (Packing Peanuts)

Time
Approximately 1 hour
Procedure
Instruct students to:
-
Fold construction paper in half to form a 9” by 6” rectangle.

Cut into 2 rectangles.
-
Give 1 to a classmate.
-
Roll ½ of the construction paper to form a cylinder 6” tall.
-
Glue the packing peanuts and bits completely around the cylinder to cover the body.
-
Tie length into a bow and glue about a 1/3 of the way down the cylinder.
-
Use black paper punch circles to form the eyes, mouth and buttons above and below the ribbon.

Cut a small round circle out of black construction paper to form the base of the hat.

Color a packing peanut black.
-
Flatten the base of the peanut.
-
Glue to the center of the black circle.
-
Glue to the top of the cylinder.
-
Add a carrot nose made from orange construction paper.
