Turkey 1

Materials
  • Sheet of brown construction paper
  • Scraps of red and orange construction paper.
  • Sunday comic strips or colored advertisement
  • Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Time

Under 1 hour

Procedure

Instruct students to:

  1. Cut a circle with approximately a 9 diameter from sheet of construction paper.
  2. Cut a head from the brown sheet of construction paper.
  3. Cut approximately 25 feathers from the colored newspaper for the wings.
  4. Glue in fan like position around top half of the circle.
  5. Cut facial features and glue to head.
  6. Glue head to top center of the body.
  7. Cut legs and glue to bottom of circle.


Turkey 2

Materials
  • Sheet of brown construction paper
  • Colored construction paper scraps
  • Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Time

Under 1 hour

Procedure

Instruct students to:

  1. Fold construction paper in half and cut to form 2 6 by 9 rectangles.
  2. Share with a classmate.
  3. Cut a 1 by 6 strip to form the body.
  4. Glue to form a circle.
  5. Cut a 1 by 3 strip to form the head.
  6. Cut a rectangular base from what is left.
  7. Glue body to base and set aside.
  8. Cut beak, waddle and eyes.
  9. Glue to head circle.
  10. Allow to dry.
  11. Cut multicolor strips approximately by 3 long to form feathers.
  12. Point one end.
  13. Glue to bottom back of body circle in a fan shape to form tail.
  14. Allow to dry.
  15. Attach head.
