Procedure
Instruct students to:
-
Cut a circle with approximately a 9” diameter from sheet of construction paper.
-
Cut a head from the brown sheet of construction paper.
-
Cut approximately 25 feathers from the colored newspaper for the wings.
- Glue in fan like position around top half of the circle.
- Cut facial features and glue to head.
- Glue head to top center of the body.
- Cut legs and glue to bottom of circle.

Procedure
Instruct students to:

Fold construction paper in half and cut to form 2 – 6” by 9” rectangles.

Share with a classmate.
-
Cut a 1” by 6” strip to form the body.
-
Glue to form a circle.
-
Cut a 1” by 3” strip to form the head.
-
Cut a rectangular base from what is left.
-
Glue body to base and set aside.
-
Cut beak, waddle and eyes.
-
Glue to head circle.
-
Allow to dry.
-
Cut multicolor strips approximately ½” by 3” long to form feathers.
-
Point one end.
-
Glue to bottom back of body circle in a fan shape to form tail.
-
Allow to dry.
-
Attach head.
