WEAVING (VALENTINE)

Chose seasonal colors to weave and cut out a seasonal object such as ornaments, flowers, animals, etc.

MATERIALS

Construction paper

Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil

Ruler

Scissors

Glue

TIME

1 to 2 hours

PROCEDURE

Instruct students to

Divide construction paper into 2- 6” by 9” sections.

Exchange 1 section of construction paper with another student for a

complementary color.

Cut one section into strips that are ½ “by 9”.

Make vertical cuts ½ “apart on the other section.

Weave by placing each strip over and under the slips in the 2nd color to

make a checkered pattern.

Glue the ends of the strips together to keep them from becoming unraveled.
