Weaving (Valentine)
Chose seasonal colors to weave and cut out a seasonal object such as ornaments, flowers, animals, etc.
Materials
- Construction paper
- Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Glue
Time
1 to 2 hours
Procedure
Instruct students to:
- Divide construction paper into 2- 6” by 9” sections.
- Exchange 1 section of construction paper with another student for a
- complementary color.
- Cut one section into strips that are ˝ “by 9”.
- Make vertical cuts ˝ “apart on the other section.
- Weave by placing each strip over and under the slips in the 2nd color to
- make a checkered pattern.
- Glue the ends of the strips together to keep them from becoming unraveled.
