Weaving (Valentine)

Chose seasonal colors to weave and cut out a seasonal object such as ornaments, flowers, animals, etc.

Materials

• Construction paper
• Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
• Ruler
• Scissors
• Glue

Time

1 to 2 hours

Procedure

Instruct students to:

1. Divide construction paper into 2- 6” by 9” sections.
2. Exchange 1 section of construction paper with another student for a
3. complementary color.
4. Cut one section into strips that are ˝ “by 9”.
5. Make vertical cuts ˝ “apart on the other section.
6. Weave by placing each strip over and under the slips in the 2nd color to
7. make a checkered pattern.
8. Glue the ends of the strips together to keep them from becoming unraveled.
