Construction paper

Nature shapes free drawn or traced with elaborate lines, such as birds, butterflies or fish.

Pencil

Push pin or straight pin

TIME

PROCEDURE

Instruct students to

Draw a faint design on construction paper.

Use a pushpin or straight pin to poke holes in the paper along the lines.

Trim and hang your art in a window, and let the sun shine through the lacy designs.

TIP

Start small, with a shape created with 1/4 sheet of construction paper

Create shapes that are seasonal.

Back with coordinating color.
