Wreath (Leaf)
Materials- Complementary colors of construction paper
- Markers/Crayons/Pencil Colors/Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue
- Fabric scraps/yarn/ribbon
Time
1 to 2 hours
Procedure
Instruct students to:
- Draw and cut out from 1 sheet of construction paper a circle with a 9” diameter.
- Set aside.
- Trace and cut out approximately 30 leaves approximately 1 ½” by 3”
- Take scissors and score half of the leaves down the inside center and half down the opposite side to give dimension.
- Glue leaves overlapping around the outside edge of the wreath.
- Glue a 2nd ring slightly overlapping on the inside of the outer ring.
- Have students draw an object appropriate to the season on the inside of the wreath.
Tip
- Have older students draw leaf shape. Use more than one design.
- Have younger students use pre drawn/pre cut leaf patterns depending upon their skill level. Oval shape leaf patterns work best for tracing and cutting.
